Bronze Metal Clay

Guess this is another something I want to try.... Bronze Metal Clay.  Could make some one of a kind buttons, eh?  Web site for it is www.BronzClay.com .  I knew of the silver clay, but heard about the bronze clay on Favecrafts.com.  Check it out -- they are giving some away!

Anna's Superhero Cinderella Costume

This is Anna in her Cinderella costume. I used Simplicity 2569 as the basic pattern with light blue sparkle satin and shiny tulle. The waist band has silver embroidery. The cape was a last minute item I whipped up the night before Halloween to help keep her warm. Ann called it her superhero cape!

Pincushion and FATC swap

FATC sent with pincushion.

The background fabric is a polyester dupioni in brown.

This is the pincushion.

I used the same polyester dubioni with a piping of silk fabric from my grandmother's stash. The flowers are FSL embroidery. The top of the pincushion was hand done using a method to put a lattice like pattern on top.

Playing in the clay!

Cranked out some slabs on the slab roller this weekend.

I'm very pleased to see a platter I made in stoneware clay is drying nicely and will soon be ready to fire! I used an interesting texture technique on it and am anxious to see how the final glaze results are. Stay tuned as it will have to dry, be bisque fired and then finally fired to high fire stoneware. As I need to fill the kiln, it may take some time!

Fabric Art Trading Cards

Fabric art trading cards....

I'm not for sure how new these are to everyone, but Artistic Threadworks started having monthly contests for these just this February. The March contest has a simple theme of "spring". I created two of these FATC that I will be posting on their site before the weekend.

The first FATC has a simple pink cotton background with a modified floral design from Artistic Threadworks. The saying is "A Springtime Gift, A flower to bloom where planted". Then the flower in the lower left corner is a freestanding lace flower that is attached to a pin back. So it's a trading card with a removable pin.

The second is a wilder pattern that was a new introduction last week from Artistic Threadworks. I digitized a background and after completing the background elements, I covered it with a piece of organza and stitched out the design along with the added word "spring" in curlz font.

I hope you like them!
